Level Two - Relationship Dynamics

In this workshop we deal with the two primary wounds of shame and shock.

Our shame and shock are the hidden source of much of our conflicts in relationship. Until we look at them with a compassionate enquiry, they remain buried in our unconscious from where they cause havoc in our relating.

Shame is the feeling that we are less than enough, that there is something inherently wrong with us. In relationships this makes us overly sensitive to what we feel is criticism and judgement and afraid to say what we feel or need. We live lives of protection,   compensation and addiction to escape these feelings but this in turn leaves us disconnected from ourselves and unable to be intimate. With shame we also have a lot of difficulty in setting appropriate boundaries.

Shock is our trauma or the feeling in us that we cant feel. Sometimes we experience it as a feeling of being frozen, paralysed or confused. We can't feel or express or simply feel disconnected from ourself and others.

Through guided meditations and carefully designed exercises,  in an atmosphere of respect and acceptance we are slowly supported to come back in to contact with the more fragile and sensitive parts of us and through this gentle approach are able to reconnect and integrate parts of ourselves that have been forgotten.
